Experimental PhD position at CNRS / Université Paris-Saclay on topics related to spin-cooling techniques for the generation of large optical cluster states

At C2N (CNRS / Université Paris-Saclay) an open experimental PhD position on topics related to spin-cooling techniques for the generation of large optical cluster states.

Thesis subject

We use optical selection rules of a charged InAs quantum dot in a micropillar cavity in a weak transversal magnetic field to generate photonic cluster states, multi-partite entangled resources for quantum computing and communication. The current limitation in this deterministic generation is the coherence time of the spin used for the photon entanglement, limited by the hyperfine interaction with its nuclear-spin environment. Its coherence can be extended with optical cooling techniques, which would be the subject of the PhD project. Read more [con link al file thesis subject proposal]
